Designers were asked to use Engage to gather community feedback on their proposal. See that people said
For Stage 1, designers were asked to use Engage to gather community feedback on what they would like to see in the select site.
Here is your chance to provide design feedback to the designer. Please be respectiful.
The design is a transitional space linking a bus stop and overhead bridge to a site at a lower elevation. The design caters to the existing function of the space—a wheelchair access ramp—yet ensures accessibility for both wheelchair users and pedestrians without compromising efficiency of the space.
Inspired by a meandering stream's fluidity, it incorporates water channels connecting higher and lower elevations, encouraging sensory interaction through sight, hearing and touch. Steps with carved-out resting areas facilitate both wheelchair landings for rest and scenic viewpoints, complemented by designated spots for activities like contemplation, exercise and even play.
The space boasts distinct zones for active and passive activities, fostering gatherings and relaxation catering to different user groups whilst emphasizing the interconnectedness of spaces and offering views toward the base, ensuring high engagement that capitalizes on the site’s prominent visibility. Ultimately, my design creates an inclusive, engaging environment that seamlessly ties together the site to its surroundings and caters to diverse user experiences.
