In the vibrant heart of the Tanjong Pagar district, the intrinsic value of green spaces takes center stage. Through a series of interviews, the sentiment expressed by the local community underscores the profound appreciation for Tanjong Pagar Green—a tranquil oasis harmoniously nestled amidst the hustle and bustle of urban life.
With a keen understanding of the significance this green space holds for the community, I planned to transform the adjacent unused space near Wong Seng Beo Temple. The goal was to create a more integrated and functional area that not only preserves but enhances the essence of Tanjong Pagar Green. This envisioned space would cater to the diverse needs of its users, offering opportunities for relaxation, exercise, and an enriched connection with the surrounding environment.
A feature of this redevelopment is the introduction of "Cascade Cove," a sloped seating area that provides intimate and quiet corners.
Addressing the varied needs of the community, the design incorporates "Central Green," a hub dedicated to light-intensity exercises, fostering well-being and encouraging an active lifestyle. Enveloped by lush greenery, this central space becomes a refreshing retreat for those seeking to seamlessly integrate nature into their fitness routines.
Further enhancing the user experience, the addition of viewing desks within the green space aims to elevate the overall ambiance. These thoughtfully positioned decks offer a unique vantage point, inviting individuals to relax and indulge in the breathtaking views of the city district. The viewing desks serve as a conduit for users to forge a deeper connection with the dynamic urban landscape that surrounds them.
By preserving the sentimental value of the existing green space and introducing thoughtful elements such as Cascade Cove, Central Green, and viewing desks, the vision is to create a harmonious fusion of nature and modernity. As the city evolves, Serenity Green stands as a space where relaxation, exercise, and appreciation converge seamlessly in perfect harmony.
