My illustration was motivated by Haussmann architecture, a Parisian style of the 19th Century that makes many dreams of a Paris life their desired life. I chose this style in favor of my desire to explore someday the world driven by architecture. This illustration follows the positive connotation of following one's dreams. All my pursuits cannot be met at this moment, but that does not define the true meaning of our lives and does not mean we won't be able to obtain them one day. The earth-toned color palette helps compliment the radiant blue sky filled with stars as the moon vibrates its light toward the structures. I decided to play with illustrative lighting to accentuate the whimsical and full-of-life thematic idea I am trying to convey through this illustration. I discovered Husseman architecture in the winter of my first year in high school. I was sitting in my art class wondering what and how to sketch something significant to me. Upon being fascinated by the beauty of Paris I discovered my excitement over Victorian styles of architecture. Even in the future if for some reason my pathway is no longer led towards architecture, I won't regret exploring throughout my high school career and sharing it through this illustration.
