"DuSable Park concept design - ""Orange snake""
The idea for this small, quiet corner in the heart of a Chicago metropolis is called ""Orange Snake"". An unusual walking and viewing path elevated above the terrain, wrapped between hills and vegetation. The landscape created in this way provides a place for rest, recreation and an interesting walk with unique views of the port and the city. The terrain is covered with local vegetation found on the Chicago River area.
The main axis of the entire project is a wide walking path running in a wide arc through the center of the park. In its center there is a planned sopt for a sculpture commemorating the patron. At its end there is a terrace overlooking the port and a possible location for a water tram.
On the south side of the waterfront, there is a walking path along the Chicago River with water-level lounge decks, floating gardens, and a multi-purpose open-air gallery for presenting art and exhibitions.
The orange path wraps around the entire area, rising to a large loop at the end, creating a raised observation deck.
In the north-west corner there is a small skate park and a bicycle repair station.
The park is also accessible directly from the walking and cycling path running next to the bridge.
